Bharti Airtel launches IPTV services priced from Rs 699 across India

Bharti Airtel on Wednesday launched its IPTV services in 2,000 cities to boost customer stickiness in its fledgling home broadband business.

Airtel’s IPTV services start from as low as Rs 699, with the higher-end plan priced at Rs 3,999. These plans offer Wi-Fi broadband speeds between 40Mbps and 1Gbps, up to 29 streaming applications, and 350 television (TV) channels.

Airtel IPTV customers will get access to an extensive library of on-demand content from 29 prominent streaming applications, including Netflix, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, SonyLiv, Zee5, 600 popular television channel.

As an introductory offer, all Airtel customers will get upto 30 days of free service on the purchase of IPTV plans, which can be availed through the Airtel Thanks App, the Sunil Mittal-led telco said.

“Backed by Airtel’s high-speed Wi-Fi, we are certain that consumers will have a fantastic converged home experience with Airtel IPTV,” Sharma added.

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), too, in December last year launched its IPTV service, while Internet providers such as Excitel are also bullish about the Internet-driven TV service.
