Payments body writes to PMO, seeks return of MDR on UPI for large merchants and RuPay debit cards

The Payments Council of India (PCI), an industry body representing digital payments companies, has written to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), requesting the reintroduction of a merchant discount rate (MDR) on RuPay debit cards and UPI transactions for large merchants only.
