Meity in touch with commerce ministry to find way around Trump tariffs

The looming threat of reciprocal tariffs by the Trump administration has prompted India’s electronics and IT ministry to start discussions with the commerce ministry to find a way to resolve the issue around India’s 15-16% duty levy on smartphones, with one option being to reduce it to zero for the US, a senior government official told ET.
