Meta’s chief AI scientist backs Godfather of AI who wants Elon Musk banned from UK’s oldest scientific academy

The chief AI scientist Yann LeCun at Meta has thrown his weight behind Geoffrey Hinton, one of the godfathers of AI, who said that Elon Musk should be banned from the British Royal Society for hugely damaging scientific institutions in the US.

“Agreed,” said LeCun, who is one of the three godfathers of AI himself, in a reply to Hinton.
