Amazon working on an advanced AI model to take on OpenAI’s GPT 4o

After giving Alexa its due artificial intelligence upgrade, next on Amazon’s table is to work on a model with advanced reasoning capabilities, or as the company’s calling it the Nova, and as per Business Insider this would be company’s strategic push into sophisticated artificial intelligence, promising to compete directly with industry leaders like OpenAI and Anthropic.

Scheduled for release by June, the Nova model will introduce a “hybrid reasoning” approach that can generate both rapid responses and complex, extended thinking within a single system. According to sources close to the project, Amazon aims to differentiate itself through cost efficiency and high-performance benchmarks.
