Indian IT industry body NASSCOM head upset with Facebook, Amazon and other tech companies going back on DEI; says “it is absolute …”

The head of Indian IT industry’s apex body NASSCOM is not happy with global technology giants like Facebook, Amazon, Google and others scaling back their Diversity initiatives. Sindhu Gangadharan, chairperson of India’s IT industry body Nasscom and managing director of SAP India, described the reduction of diversity initiatives by global tech giants like Meta and Amazon as “unfortunate,” urging companies to uphold their core values.

Speaking at an event recently, Gangadharan emphasized that these corporations should not abandon their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), noting that global success requires embracing such principles.
