Facebook Messenger faces global outage affecting users in US, UK

Facebook’s messaging app, Messenger, has suffered a widespread disruption, impacting users globally. The problem seems to have hit both the app and the platform’s web version. Reports on social media suggest that users are unable to connect or send messages via the Messenger app and are unable to make any calls. However, the issue doesn’t seem to be widespread in India as most of these reports came from users in the US and the UK.

The outage monitoring platform DownDetector recorded a significant surge in user complaints, with over 573 and 1,819 people in the US and the UK, respectively, reporting issues in sending messages, constituting nearly 80% of total reports.
