Perplexity takes On Google Chrome with its AI web browser, Comet

Perplexity, the AI-powered search engine company, announced on Monday that it will launch a new web browser called Comet. The company describes the browser as “agentic,” suggesting it will leverage artificial intelligence to automate tasks and enhance internet browsing capabilities.

“Just like Perplexity reinvented search, we’re also reinventing the browser,” a Perplexity spokesperson told TechCrunch via email. Interested users can now sign up to be among the first to access the upcoming browser.
