India adds 23 million new gamers, Karnataka leads with 300 AVGC, XR studios: IT-BT minister Priyank Kharge

With the gaming industry growing at a rate of 23% annually, Karnataka’s IT-BT minister Priyank Kharge said that India has added 23 million new gamers in the past year. He added that Karnataka is at the forefront of attracting investors, fostering innovation, and enabling content creators to thrive in the industry. The minister said that the state has introduced a robust policy for the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) domain.
