TRAI proposes broadcast fee overhaul under new authorisation regime

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recommended reducing authorisation fees and bank guarantees for certain broadcasting distribution services while reiterating its earlier recommendation to phase out direct-to-home (DTH) licence fees by the end of FY27.
