Meta opens sign-ups for Community Notes on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads

Meta has announced that it is now accepting sign-ups for its Community Notes program on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. This new feature allows users to add context to posts they believe are misleading or confusing, similar to the model used by X (formerly Twitter).

To become a contributor, users must be based in the United States, be over 18 years old, have a Meta account that is more than six months old and in good standing, and have a verified phone number or enrollment in two-factor authentication. Contributors will be able to write and submit Community Notes, which can include background information, tips, or other details that users might find useful.
