Apple to UK’s regulator: Proposed web browser changes will hurt innovation
Apple has informed the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) that certain proposed remedies aimed at addressing concerns within the mobile browser market could negatively affect the company’s motivation to innovate.
These comments (via news agency Reuters) have been submitted as part of Apple and Google’s responses to the CMA’s ongoing investigation into the supply of mobile browsers and browser engines, as well as the distribution of cloud gaming services through mobile app stores in the United Kingdom. These responses were made public on the government’s website on Wednesday.
