Google may face legal action from Mexico if it continues to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America” for US users on Google Maps, reports Bloomberg. According to the report, Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum said her government had sent another letter to Google, arguing that US President Donald Trump’s executive order on the name change only applies to the part of the gulf within US territory.

“Google has no right to rename Mexico’s waters, just like it has no right to rename Cuba’s,” Sheinbaum said during a press conference. “The Gulf of Mexico belongs to three countries, and we do not accept any change to its name.”
