Vodafone Idea shares rally nearly 6% amid AGR relief speculation

Shares of Vodafone Idea climbed as much as 5.7% on Tuesday, reaching Rs 9.6 on the BSE, after Finance Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey hinted that the government is considering a proposal to waive 50% of the interest and 100% of the penalties and interest on penalties, which constitute a major portion of the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues levied on telecom companies like Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel.
