After Google, Apple may be next to get caught in China-US tariffs crossfire

Apple may be the next target in the US-China tariff saga. China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) is reportedly considering a formal antitrust investigation into Apple App Store policies, including the fees it charges developers and its restrictions on external payment services.

Citing sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reported that SAMR officials have been engaging in discussions with Apple executives and app developers since last year, examining Apple’s practices, which include taking a cut of up to 30% on in-app purchases and prohibiting third-party app stores and payment methods.
