UK makes AI-generated child abuse material a criminal offense

The United Kingdom has become the first country to introduce laws against the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to generate child sexual abuse images. This landmark aims to curb the disturbing trend of using AI to create explicit content involving children.
The new legislation, announced by Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, makes it illegal to possess, create, or distribute AI tools designed to generate sexualised images of children.
