‘Been on the wrong side of history’: Sam Altman on OpenAI’s closed-source approach

OpenAI founder and CEO Sam Altman has acknowledged that Chinese chatbot app DeepSeek has narrowed the ChatGPT-maker’s lead in the artificial intelligence segment, and said that the Microsoft-backed company’s closed-source approach to AI development has been a misstep.
