Microsoft has announced that it will bring the latest DeepSeek R1 artificial intelligence models directly to Windows 11 Copilot+ PCs. This will allow developers to build and run AI apps locally on these devices. The distilled 7B and 14B variants of DeepSeek R1 will be available through the AI Toolkit which will be optimised for the NPUs (Neural Processing Units) found in these PCs. This move aims to empower developers and accelerate the creation of AI-powered apps on Windows.
