Hackers from China, Iran, Russia and North Korea are ‘misusing’ Gemini AI chatbot, Google says
Hackers from Iran, China, and North Korea are leveraging Google’s Gemini chatbot to enhance their operations, according to a new report from Google’s Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG). While the AI tool is boosting hacker productivity, it hasn’t yet led to any significant advancements in their capabilities, the report added.
“Government-backed attackers attempted to use Gemini for coding and scripting tasks, gathering information about potential targets, researching publicly known vulnerabilities, and enabling post-compromise activities, such as defense evasion in a target environment,” GTIG said in its report.
