China’s DeepSeek faces its first ban: Italy blocks it on iPhones and Android phones
Italy has become the first country to block DeepSeek. A report claims that the Chinese artificial intelligence app has been removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in the country. This action follows a request for information from the Italian data protection authority about the app’s use of personal data.
A notice on Apple’s App Store started informing Italian users that the DeepSeek app was “currently not available in the country or area.” Similarly, Google’s Play Store also displayed a message stating that the download was “not supported” in Italy, the report noted.
