BSNL partners Skypro, PlayboxTV to launch IFTV service with OTTs nationwide
State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Tuesday launched its IFTV service nationwide in partnership with Skypro and PlayboxTV.
The service will offer over 550 live TV channels and access to 18 premium over-the-top (OTT) streaming services, according to a joint statement.
“With over 4 million FTTH customers across diverse terrains of India, from urban to rural areas, BSNL now enables all its customers to access premium TV and OTT apps at no additional cost,” the companies said. “To celebrate the launch, BSNL broadband customers will receive free access to 550-plus live TV channels and 18 premium OTT platforms.”
For BSNL IFTV, Skypro is providing live TV content, while PlayboxTV is enabling OTT service through an application across mobile and television.
The companies signed a pact in the presence of union telecom minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, BSNL CMD Robert Ravi, and telecom secretary Neeraj Mittal, among others, as per the statement.
