NCLAT admits Meta’s appeal against CCI’s data-sharing ban, ₹213 crore fine
The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on Thursday admitted Meta Platforms’ appeal against an order by India’s competition regulator, which imposed a five-year ban on the company’s data-sharing practices in the country and slapped a ₹213.14 crore fine for allegedly abusing its dominant position.
The bench, led by NCLAT chairperson Justice Ashok Bhushan, noted that the matter required further consideration. A decision on Meta’s plea for interim relief to stay the Competition Commission of India (CCI) order is expected on 23 January.
