BMTC pushes UPI, aims at Rs 1 crore transactions daily

BENGALURU: To address complaints from passengers about Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) conductors discouraging UPI payments and insisting on cash, the bus corporation has begun sensitising its conductors to accept UPI payments too. In many buses, especially those plying on the airport route and the tech corridors of the city, static UPI QR codes are pasted on the bus panels. However, passengers reported that conductors refused to allow payments through this method.
