Google may have another problem in the US. A federal judge has ruled against the tech giant’s attempt to dismiss a class-action lawsuit accusing it of illegally collecting personal data from users’ cellphones even after they disabled tracking. This decision paves the way for a potential trial in August.
According to a report by news agency Reuters, the judge rejected arguments that the search engine company adequately disclosed how its Web & App Activity settings worked, and that users consented to the tracking.
