Facebook-parent Meta has an eBay ‘plan’ to comply with these EU regulations

Meta is set to test a new feature that will allow users to browse eBay listings on Facebook Marketplace and complete purchases. According to a report by the news agency Reuters, this test will launch in Germany, France, and the US at first. This move is a part of Facebook’s parent company’s response to an $840 million fine imposed by the European Commission in November 2024 for anti-competitive practices related to Facebook Marketplace, the report added. With this new feature, the social media major aims to address the Commission’s concerns which will give eBay sellers access to Facebook’s vast user base and provide Marketplace users with a wider selection of products.
