OpenAI CEO Sam Altman described inheriting a “complete mess” and a company that was “on fire” following his dramatic reinstatement as chief executive, according to a Bloomberg interview published Sunday.
Altman, who was abruptly fired and then rehired within five days last November, revealed that the situation deteriorated daily after his return, citing mounting government investigations and what he characterized as former board members leaking “fake news” to the press.
