Telcos call Trai’s plan to split data, voice packs as ‘regressive’

New Delhi | Kolkata: India’s top telcos have slammed the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s latest regulation mandating carriers to offer voice and SMS-only tariff packs, calling it a regressive step that will slow down upgrades to 4G/5G and also turn the clock back by discouraging 2G users from fully benefiting from the data revolution.
