Haryana man held for data theft and extortion from top insurance company

Mumbai police have initiated a probe into data theft from one of India’s leading life insurance companies after cyber fraudsters illegally gained access to sensitive information about their policy holders and demanded money by threatening to leak the data.

Mumbai cyber police arrested a 28-year-old interior designer from Haryana on December 14, while they continue to search for the mastermind, believed to be based in Cambodia.
