Albania bans TikTok for a year after stabbing of teenager last month

Albania has announced a one-year ban on TikTok following the killing of a teenager last month, citing concerns over social media’s influence on children. Prime Minister Edi Rama confirmed the decision after consultations with parents and teachers, emphasising the move as part of efforts to make schools safer.

“For one year, we’ll be completely shutting it down for everyone. There will be no TikTok in Albania,” Rama stated.
