Pune bizman loses Rs 10 lakh to ‘Zudio franchise’ scammers

A businessman in Pune was allegedly duped of Rs 10 lakh by cyber criminals on the pretext of giving him a franchise to start a Zudio outlet in the city, the police said on Tuesday. The fraudsters used deceptively similar websites and email addresses creating an impression that all the communications were from Zudio, they added.

According to the police, the 66-year-old man, while surfing the internet earlier this month, came across an advertisement that provided a link to apply for the Zudio franchise.
