Credit card scam busted: How the gang stole money from over 50 credit card users through ‘phone calls’
Noida Police arrested a gang of six for defrauding over 50 people by falsely promising to increase their credit card limits. Noida Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Manish Mishra explained that the gang contacted credit card holders by phone, posing as bank officials and offering to raise their credit limits. They used personal information previously obtained to convince victims of their legitimacy. The scammers sent phishing links that directed victims to fake websites mimicking real bank portals.
