OpenAI CEO, Perplexity donate $1 mn each to Trump’s inaugural fund

OpenAI’s top executive and AI search startup Perplexity are each donating $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund, a sign that artificial intelligence companies are trying to firm up relationships with the incoming administration.

Sam Altman, OpenAI’s chief executive officer, is now planning to give $1 million to Trump from his personal funds after having previously donated to President Biden’s 2024 reelection campaign.
