WhatsApp rolls out dancing ‘three dots’ indicator to show when someone is typing

WhatsApp is introducing the well-known, bouncing “three dots” indicator that will show up for users when someone at the other end of the chat is typing. The new “Typing Indicators” have been rolled out for both Android and iOS users globally.

“Now, when someone begins typing in a group or 1:1 chat, you will see a visual ‘…’ cue at the bottom of the chat screen, along with their profile picture, making it easier to see who is actively engaged in the conversation,” the messaging giant said in a statement on Thursday, December 5.
