Scientists use forensic technology to reveal ‘real face’ of 1700 years old Santa Claus
Scientists have used facial reconstruction technology to reveal the likely face of Saint Nicholas, the 4th-century bishop who inspired the Santa Claus legend. By analysing data from Saint Nicholas’s skull, researchers created a detailed image showing a white-bearded man with a broad forehead, thin lips, and a round nose. According to lead researcher Cicero Moraes, the reconstruction combines “statistical projections” and “artistic” interpretation. Moraes also shared the “real face” of Santa Claus in an Instagram post.
