OpenAI gearing up for ‘shipmas’, may launch AI video generator Sora alongside a new reasoning model

OpenAI, the company that introduced us to ChatGPT two years ago is reportedly preparing for “shipmas”. Starting today, the AI startup may unveil new products, features and demos for the next 12 days.

According to The Verge, the announcement was made by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman at The New York Times Dealbook conference, who did not share any details on what to expect. But citing sources familiar with the matter, the report suggests some upcoming features may include Sora, the AI-powered text-to-video generator and a new reasoning model.
