369 million malware threats and counting: Report reveals ‘dangerous’ scale of hacking in India

A new report has painted a concerning picture of India’s cybersecurity landscape. Seqrite, in collaboration with the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), has released the “India Cyber Threat Report 2025,” which highlights a staggering 369 million malware detections across the country.
The report notes the increasing sophistication and volume of cyber threats targeting Indian individuals and organisations. It also highlights the most prevalent malware types, the most affected regions in the country as well as the top sectors that are particularly vulnerable to these attacks.
