‘Son arrested in Canada, must pay Rs 4 lakh for bail’: Cyber fraudsters dupe Ludhiana man

In yet another case of an alleged cyber fraud, a resident of Ludhiana district was tricked into transferring Rs 4 lakh after fraudsters claimed that his son has been arrested in Canada for causing a fatal accident.

The victim, Bhupinder Singh of Patti Mann village, said that on October 18, he received a call from an unknown number. The caller posed as a police officer from Canada, alleging that his son, Rajinder Singh, currently in Canada, was arrested for crushing a man to death.
