HDFC Life faces data breach; read company’s BSE filing informing customer data hacking

HDFC Life Insurance Company has confirmed a data breach incident, where an unknown entity has shared sensitive customer information with malicious intent. “We have received communication from an unknown source, who has shared certain data fields of our customers with us, with mala fide intent,” HDFC Life said in a regulatory filing. The company said that it is currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the extent of the breach and take appropriate remedial action.
