“The government has failed to …,” Apple tells court in bid to dismiss antitrust case

Apple has urged a federal judge to dismiss the Department of Justice’s antitrust lawsuit, arguing that the government failed to prove the tech giant’s monopoly power in the smartphone market.
“The government has failed to plausibly allege that Apple has monopoly power,” argued Apple lawyer Devora Allon during the hearing, held in Newark, New Jersey. Apple contends that the case amounts to a “judicial redesign” of the iPhone and that the government’s complaints are overly speculative.
