The Supreme Court has dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that sought a ban on WhatsApp if the messaging platform failed to comply with Indian government regulations. The bench, comprising Justices M M Sundresh and Aravind Kumar, declined to entertain the plea filed by Kerala resident Omanakuttan KG, a software engineer.
