FBI issues warning, exposes hackers’ new ‘emergency request’ tactic to target companies

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a warning explaining how hackers are using new techniques to get access to data that is used to attack US-based companies and law enforcement agencies. In its notification, the intelligence service said that criminals impersonate law enforcement officials to obtain sensitive data through fraudulent “emergency data requests” (EDRs).
