Social media user facing Goa govt complaint responds: ‘Misuse of law to shut down criticism’

A day after the Goa government’s tourism department filed a police complaint against an entrepreneur alleging he was “disseminating false data” on tourist footfalls, the entrepreneur said he “merely cited publicly available data”.

Ramanuj Mukherjee, founder of an online legal learning platform, told The Indian Express that Goa state authorities appear to be “misusing law to shut down criticism”, instead of acting on complaints raised by the tourists on social media.
