Ford dealer sends ‘Facebook cops’ after buyer who paid with fake cheque
A man from Hudson County, New Hampshire, US has been arrested following a public social media dispute with a Nashua County car dealership over a fraudulent cheque used to purchase a Ford F-250 pickup truck. The dispute began when Best Ford of Nashua offered a $1,000 reward on Facebook for information leading to the repossession of the truck, alleging that the buyer, Ryan Duval, 36, had paid with a bad $25,000 cheque. Duval responded with multiple comments defending himself, escalating the situation into a public back-and-forth. This online feud prompted a police investigation, culminating in Duval’s arrest on Friday. He faces charges related to the fraudulent cheque and outstanding warrants.
