Apple may ask the biggest iPhone supplier to build AI servers for Apple Intelligence
Apple is reportedly in discussions with the largest iPhone supplier, Foxconn, to manufacture specialised servers for its Apple Intelligence AI platform. According to a report by Nikkei Asia, this move will help Apple’s growing investment in artificial intelligence (AI) and its desire to enhance its computational capabilities. Foxconn already provides similar server manufacturing services for Nvidia, whose GB200 system is currently the world’s most powerful AI computing platform. Apple hopes to leverage Foxconn’s expertise to build servers powered by Apple Silicon, the same technology used in its Macs and iPads. While Apple’s server volume is expected to be smaller than Nvidia’s, this partnership highlights the company’s ambition to expand its AI infrastructure and compete in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
