Government has a ‘critical’ security warning for Google Chrome users: Here’s what users need to do

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a “High” severity warning regarding multiple security vulnerabilities discovered in the Google Chrome web browser that could allow hackers to execute arbitrary code and gain control of users’ devices.
The critical security flaws, stemming from inappropriate implementations in Chrome’s Extensions and Type Confusion in V8, enable remote attackers to bypass the browser’s security protections. These vulnerabilities could grant unauthorised access to sensitive user data, including passwords, banking information, addresses, and other personal details, potentially leading to financial fraud and additional security risks.
