OpenAI may launch Orion, the much anticipated GPT-4 successor in December
OpenAI is reportedly planning to launch Orion, its much anticipated AI model sometime in December. But unlike previous releases like GPT-4o, it won’t be available to ChatGPT customers but limited to companies OpenAI closely works with.
According to a recent report by The Verge, who has learned about OpenAI’s plan from a source, Microsoft engineers are already planning to host Orion on the tech giant’s Azure platform by the end of next month. The publication also suggests that inside OpenAI, Orion may be termed as the GPT-4 successor, but it is still unclear if the company will call it GPT-5.
