Why Steam is making its game purchase policy more ‘visible’

Steam has started showing a new notice in its shopping cart. With this notice, the popular Valve-owned online gaming platform clarifies that purchases made by its customers are for licenses and they don’t have actual ownership of the games. This change, first spotted by Engadget, appears to be a proactive measure in response to an upcoming US law requiring companies to state that buyers do not own digital content explicitly.
