YouTube may be ‘hiding’ skip buttons on ads: What the company has to say

YouTube has been making subtle changes to how ads are displayed on its platform. This has led some users to point out that the Google-owened streaming platform is trying to hide or remove the skip button in ads. Users reported seeing that the familiar countdown timer that appears on skippable ads is being replaced with black rectangles on desktop. According to a report by Android Police some mobile users also reported not seeing the skip option at all.
