Malware on systems at the State Data Centre, govt offices in Uttarakhand forced to stop work

Uttarakhand’s entire IT infrastructure ground to a halt after malware was detected on systems at the State Data Centre, leaving government offices unable to carry out work Friday.

Officials said they were trying to determine how malware got into the system, and that a cyber attack was suspected.

IT Secretary Nitesh Jha ordered the shutdown of all services to mitigate potential losses.
