Gmail’s AI assistant comes to iPhones; here’s what it means for users

Google has rolled out Gmail’s AI-powered search feature for iPhone users. The feature which is already available on Android and the web allows users to ask Gemini, Google’s large language model, questions about their inbox and get relevant answers without leaving the Gmail app. With Gemini in Gmail, users can ask specific questions about their emails, filter messages by sender or read status, summarise email threads on a particular topic, and even get answers to general search queries, all within their inbox.
